If so, review of it. Trying to decide between 3. Pitts and spits, LSG, or Camp Chef woodwind pro. Thanks for the input

Anyone have a lone star grillz Pellet smoker?

There’s a Facebook group for the LSG pellet grill, it smokes like no other pellet grill that I’ve seen, but not sure how much of a difference in flavor it really makes. LG has some great build quality, but that heavy pit takes a lot of pellets compared to others. I’ve got a fireboard and really love the interface, it’s a big selling point for the smoker in my opinion. With that being said, the camp chef pro with the burn pot is getting some great reviews and is about half the price of the LSG. Seems to be the best of both worlds, feed the burn pot for the first 4-6hrs and let the pellet grill cruise for the rest of the cook. If you’ve only got one outside cooking grill add the sidekick to get some searing done.
Pits and Spits and LSG are really in a different class quality wise when compared to the Camp Chef and most other pellets smokers for that matter.

Thinking of getting a LSG 20x42. From what I've read and the videos they use the thickest gauge metal on the market. The removable ash pot and the constant smoke along with the Fire board is swinging me towards it instead of Pitts and Spitts and RecTec.
While the thickness is really nice and it’ll definitely last, that’s a LOT of metal to heat up. The removable ash pot is awesome and is similar to the camp chef.

I have had the Lone Star Grillz 20x42 pellet smoker for about a year and a half now after being on the waiting list for 8-9 months.
I will start by saying I like it alot but this was also my first pellet smoker so I cant compare it to any others. I have just always been the type to wait and save up to buy nicer things from the get go instead of buying cheaper then eventually upgrading.
This thing is built like a tank. You can definitely tell the quality and thickness of the metal. I upgraded to the 8” casters and am certainly glad i did. Debated long on hard about going all the way with the golf cart wheels upgrade but felt it was a little overpriced at around ~$900 or so more.
From the very first cook every meal has turned out excellent. I did try searing steaks once and while they werent bad. It wasnt the same as my gas or charcoal grill. But i didnt buy this thing to sear steaks i bought it to smoke food.
One small complaint i have is you have to dump the ash pot and clean it out before every cook or you will have issues starting the new smoke. Again this is my first pellet grill so not sure if they are all like that or not.
Another small issue is the cover that i bought from their website (they dont actually make them it is sourced out to someone else) while being nice and made of quality material, fits over the stack a little too tight in my opinion. The way the stack cover is designed (it has to be closed to put the cover on) just feels like it is eventually going to rip the cover when putting it on or removing it even if you’re being extra careful.
I use this thing once or twice a week and i would say overall I am happy with my LSG 20x42 and do not regret spending the extra money for it. I paid extra for it hoping the quality material will last longer than these other brands and only time will answer that.

Pitts and Spits Maverick 850 here. It’s my 3rd different pellet grill and while not exactly perfect (nothing ever is), it blows the previous two away.
First was a Pitt Boss 1000 series from Academy. It worked but it was very flimsy and had some pretty significant temp swings. I gave it away when I bought pellet grill 2.
Pellet grill 2 is a Green Mountain Peak Prime. Definitely a step or so up from the Pitt Boss, holds temp better and heavier construction. You can seat on it, which is why I still have it, but you basically have to pull it apart and remove the diffuser in order to expose the burn pot in order to do so. It’s really not a big deal as long as you have some heavy gloves and it works great.
Current primary is the Pitts and Spits. It holds heat way better than the others and doesn’t have any real noticeable temp swings, maybe 3-5° for a short amount of time but generally within 1 or 2 at any point. The seal on the bottom lip of the lid on that grill didn’t last long and it takes a while to build heat in order to reverse sear, but it was worth every penny with how it cooks. It just takes a little getting used to.
If you can’t get a Lone Star without waiting a while, you’d likely be very happy with the Pitts and Spits. They’re great grills.
