I put carpet tack strips on the legs of one of my feeders today. This is one where I have been having more coon pictures than deer. I'll soon be able to tell if the concept works well with the educated coons at this feeder. Obviously, I think the concept will work or I wouldn't have tried it.

These things are more aggressive than carpet tack strips, saw them in person, they are not playing around.

I would SO mess up and rake my shoulder against that...nothing like bleeding all over your truck while you drive to the ER...

I still like coon eradication over coon defense...

It looks like a long truss bracket that got sharpened...

doubt they would work on our Sonora steroid coons..I think we have Xbred chumpacabbras out there. I'd hate to catch one of those in the eye.

won't work,(LADDER) liquid nailed blades and carpet nails onto my tubes and would still see bloody footprints on top, finally bought a Bossbuck coon trap last week will be giving it a try next time I go.

Why don't yall just make a cage around your timer/feeder? The coons arms are only about 6" long. Make it the width of the barrell and a little lower than your timer. Keep the coons on the ground and don't worry about it. They get what they get.

They are longer than that in West Texas.....20"x20" cage and they got me for 900lbs a month.

Anything bigger than 1"x1" holes and they could reach up to their shoulder. These commercial 14"x14" folding black varmint guards are nothing more than a jungle gym to give them better position.

I placed 1" x1" mesh over my 20"x20" cage and solved the problem.
