    SD card problem

When I go to the lease, I swap out the SD cards in the cameras and bring home to look at on my laptop. After saving any pictures I want I always format the cards using the laptop. I can take those same cards back to the lease and put in my cameras and many times they will say "SD card full"- ***, they have been formatted. Many of my cards I have used for several years. Is there something else I can do to make sure they will work in the cameras or have those just about outlived their usefulness?

I’ve had that happen some too. When that happens, try a “Delete All” on the camera. You can also format the card in the camera (instead of on your computer) if it has that feature.

Between those two things, I’ve always gotten the cards to work again.

I been told many times to always delete the sd card when it’s in the camera it seams to do better. I also get new sd cards every year.

If the cam can delete and format cards do it on the camera as mentioned above. If the camera has the feature that allows it save new pics over the oldest pics you might try that setting as well.

I delete on the computer but do not format. No need to format unless the file is corrupted.

Do I need to format in camera that gives me this message or can I use any camera to do this. I have an extra camera here at the house that I can use to do this.

Yep. Use the camera. Or a camera

Once the card is formatted you shouldn't have yo do it again unless you change devices.

I delete on my iPad but confirm when I put a card in my camera.

I do exactly what you do and have never received that message. I delete at home and format on the laptop every single time.

Are you sure you are formatting in the correct format? That is the only possible thing I can think of.

When I am finished viewing on the Home Screen, I delete the pictures and the card is ready to go right back to work. All of my cams are Browning so no mixing up cards.

I use an old camera to delete pics and format the sd card. It's been working for me.

I can’t say I’ve ever had to format an SD card. I do however try to only run sandisk cards. Cheap on Amazon. Delete all on camera and go. I’ve had issues with off brand ones.

Safest method is to format on the trail camera you put it in.

The issue is there are lots of ways to format an SD card but the cam you put it in knows best for itself. Delete All works as long as the card isn’t corrupted.

Not sure if you do this or not, but I started making sure the same cards go in the same camera every time and it cut down on the problems I was having. I numbered all my cameras and keep two cards for each one numbered the same. Going into the same camera every time now and haven’t had a problem.
