    Chartreuse dip not working

I have a red/white down south paddle tail and dipped it in Chartreuse Spike it.
and after dipping and drying them several times their still white. Does anyone know a dip that works or had this problem it works on other soft baits, just not the red/white Down South. Bought a new bottle with same results

Ive had some baits not take well to it. But DS is just standard plasticizer so it should work. Make sure to wipe the oil off good. Also make sure to shake good sometimes the pigment can settle. I ended up going with Kelly Wiggler brand becouse it was really opaque and took to everything.

Try JJs Magic. It is better than Spike it. Dyes deeper.

Fair warning, it will pressurize in the heat. I keep all mine in a spinnerbait box that I removed the divider in and have foam cutout for the bottles to slide into. Keeps it contained.

I used to work for a soft plastic distributor and he would buy a plastic dip that was similar to pvc cement thinned out. He would get it with either white or chartreuse pigment added and dip the tails of shad and shrimp tails. The dip worked way better than any dyes I have used for saltwater baits. Another fishing guide I know would do the same but add black pigment and paint the backs of red shadtails to make red shad when they were not available

Spike it has the dip and glo in glass bottles now and it will last a LOT longer. I get mine at Serious Tackle in La Marque. To get the best results dip it in white first and then Chartreuse.

Are you dipping over white tails? If not you need to dip in white tail dip a time or two allowing each coat to dry before dipping in chartreuse. Most of the spike it type dips just are not as good as what the lure manufacturers use. I know the tail dips Hogie's uses are much better than spike it but they can't be bottled and sold in small quantities. It dries out too quick.

Just a heads up. I bought some Spike It Chartreuse paint dip. Garlic scent. Worked great. Problem solved. Hope this helps someone having the same problem I was having.

Careful with that stuff. A single drip on anything will leave a stain you can't remove. Ask me how I know!

Depends on what you drip it on. They make a Neutralizer, it won’t remove it from fiberglass or your seats.
