I’ve always bought stuff from Academy when around the house, but do go into small shops like Tackle Town or POC R&G.
This year I finally took a look at Amazon and will order bulk circle hook and lead weights. Much better pricing, but no experience with the quality yet.
As for lures, I surely don’t need anymore as I have plenty for years to come. I’ve gotten away from strictly artificial fishing the coast like I used to, usually due to the company I have on the boat or lack of desire to grind out a bunch of wades. I blame buying a nicer boat for my laziness to get after it like I used to.
I used to carry one of everything, now I just throw on a top water and shove a couple jigs heads and plastics in a shirt pocket. Over carrying all the excess just to have to clean it or it go bad or get lost.

I do some online shopping (repeat buying some of my go to SW plastics and most to all my crappie gear). Saying that I love to shop in the store (Academy, or Johnny Sporting Goods in Eagle Lake (I drive by it each weekend enroute from Sugar Land to Shiner and back. Pops is fond of the Tackle Box in Victoria for the same reasons.Proud member since 1999
