Coming back from Lufkin Wednesday a UHaul truck turned in front of us pulling a trailer. On the trailer was a blue with racing stripe A C Cobra. I know it was probably a kit car but it had all the stickers on both fenders, a chrome roll bar over the drivers seal and just forward of the drivers door was the Cobra emblem and "427". Growing up in Texas City, the ford guy there, Gene Hamon had the real McCoy in the mid 60's. He started it up in his driveway and every kid for blocks around ran over to his house. He let us sit in it and said "push the clutch in". Took both feet.
As we passed the UHaul, I had both hands and nose pressed against the window. I don't think the lady driving saw me for the drool.
I remember seeing the cobra. Several times a year I would see it sitting in front of the Hamon Ford dealership.
