One way is that fallow have a longer tail than a sika.

Big bushy white rear ends on the Sika

Sika have that white short tail with a black horseshoe outline around the rump patch. Their bellies are the same color as the rest of their bodies. Their heads are more compact with more dainty looking noses and ears. No Adam's apple.

Fallow have longer tails. Even chocolate fallow will usually have lighter colored bellies. Their heads are bigger. Eyes set more apart. Adam's apple.

If you look at enough of both species, you will be able to identify them easily. They have different looks.

Sika are generally more stocky. Fallow tend took skinny and lanky
