No joy for elk for I don’t know how many years in a row. Even putting in for good opportunity hunts. I did draw a January archery deer tag though. No high hopes as it’s an opportunity tag as well, but should be fun.

These are normally tough hunts. You'll only have movement at first light and right before dark due to the heat. That unit looks like you could get some elevation to camp at night and the temps may not be to bad. If you can locate some you'll probably have a decent chance at a stalk. Be mentally prepared to not see many animals.
