    2023 NFL Draft Thread

I like the craziness of the draft and the hoopla that goes with it more than I like actually watching the game. Thought I would start a thread for those that enjoy this part of the sport like I do. Bring on your comments and predictions. I used to work the Houston Oiler bench in the 80s and 90s before Bud Adams messed us over so I am a Texans fan for the most part. Gentlemen start your engines.

Hoping the Texans can do something productive this draft....

If I was Caserio I would take Anderson at #2 and then trade my #12 pick to Arizona for their #3 and give them my pick at #33 and a 3rd rounder as well. With the pick at 3 I would take a QB.

I'm hoping Dallas takes either OL or DL with their first pick

I read on the ticker that the Texans are not totally sold on taking a QB with their first round pick. Made me scratch my head but I am not a GM.

I am really interested on how Dallas decides to negotiate this draft. You know, since they are always in playoff/draft purgatory.

From a Texans fan perspective, they have so much rebuilding to do I don't think a QB with #2 pick this draft is a necessity. I'm probably in the minority thinking that. In my opinion, if Carolina takes Young at #1, I would draft Will Anderson Jr. at #2, best player available at #12, and Hendon Hooker at #33... or slide into late first round to get him. He's a better prospect as far as being ready now than Levis or Richardson. I don't think the Texans will draft Stroud. He didn't test well on the S2 Cognition test and his agent is hated by the Texans organization after dealing with the Watson debacle. I think next years draft has a better group of QB's that are top 10 worthy.

I will agree with this. They have way to many holes to fill.

I agree with most of what you said except for the Hendon Hooker comment. He'll be 26 years old as a rookie and coming off an ACL tear. I'm for passing on CJ if they don't think he's the guy, but I also don't think waiting for next years draft for a QB is a solid plan, we will find a way to be outside the top 3 picks and left contemplating trading away a bunch of first round picks to move up to get the guy they think it is.

If they do take CJ - I'm hoping they couple him with JSN at 12 to give him a chance.

past that - give me all the edge rushers and centers you got in this draft, one of them has to work out!

                    No. No. No.

It is amazing to me the short shelf life of an NFL running back these days. That position gets very little love in this day and age.

I love the draft, but I'm not real caught up on it yet this year.

I agree with Bob, If Bijan falls to them...but I don't think he gets very close. In that case, I want Ol/Dl as well....it seems like I say that every year. They've shored up the secondary some, but I wouldn't hate a corner in the first either...which I also say every year. There has been a lot of talk about TE, I just don't like using a 1st on one. If you think there is a legit guy there in the 2nd, I'm all in as long as you got DL/OL in the 1st.

                        D Line
                        O Line
                        Corner
                        WR/TE

Texans have their work cut out for them as far as finding their QB. I bet there's a good one in this draft, finding him is the trick. Stroud aint it, he's another flop waiting to happen imo.

For the Texans- Load up on the OL and DL lines. Grab a stud edge rusher, receiver, db, and grab this guy right here in the later rounds>>>>>>>>> Clayton Tune from UH.

                          He is my sleeper QB.

I also think Tune is a sleeper. He probably will be a 5th or 6th rounder.

As a Coog I am interested to see what Tune does at the next level.
