    Question for the frequent flyers.

In a month or so I'm going to need a one way ticket from Atlanta to Columbus, OH to pick up a car.

The issue is, I won't have advanced notice. The dealer said they won't know when the car will be there until they see it being unloaded off the truck.

Is there a way to get a decent price on a last minute ticket?

I would just drive up there and get it, but that's 20 hours of driving instead of 10, wear & tear on the truck and trailer and a plane ticket will probably be cheaper than fuel and W&T.

    Thanks

Why not rent a car one way and leave it there?

That’s what I would do. Flying Sucks anyway.

Wait a week or two after car arrives then buy ticket. You're already waiting a month, what's another week

Fly on a Wednesday- cheapest day for airfare. Tuesday is next in line. Just shop tickets when it comes in and you would be surprised at some of the prices mid-week. Many times airfare gets cheap on Monday for a Wednesday flight. They want a full plane

Next Wed you could fly nonstop for $112 on American

Because, then I'm driving 20 hours instead of 10.

If I fly out at 0600 I'll be back home before dark.

Stopped at a fuel station a few years ago on a road trip. I got a quart of beer and a bag of chips.

The cashier asked if I was on the Mega Bus (that got there the same time I did).

I asked if I was, did I get a discount. She said no. If you're on the Mega Bus we aren't allowed to sell you alcohol.

I don't want a 4Runner to be sold out from under me for more money. When they back it off the hauler, I want to be in the driver's seat before the engine cools off.

                    Thanks.

Can you walk up and buy a seat cheap if there are open seats on the plane or do they try to slam you for face value?

Less the advise already offered...as a frequent flyer, I don't know any other options you have, as your situation as described has zero flexibility.

I was hoping for some kind of a hack like buying a ticket and then moving it up a day until I hit the right day.

I put a $500 deposit on it. I told them I would wire the entire balance and they would only take $500.

Do you have a purchase agreement?

                              Spirit sucks, but it's cheap.

On Delta tomorrow from atlanta to columbus is $230, but you'd need to spend the night.

                              That seems pretty cheap.
