Where to certify a scale for fishing?

Who knows someone who can certify scales? I know TPWD has a list as we went to someone on the list and they had no clue.

I had it done to a scale long long ago but went through IGFA but they only do scales up to 100 pounds (maybe 80).

Is the certification the same as a legal for trade cert.? Or easier to get?

Our 660# scale reads 49.8# with 50# on it. and off about 1 pound once it gets 500# on it. Will need a place to send it to get certified if TPWD does not accept what the scale company gave us (basically a report showing accuracy)

I am on TPWD’s list of fish weighers and have been for a long time. Basically your scale must pass the same specs as any legal for trade scale. I send mine to Bastrop Scale yearly. Costs about $40 with shipping back to me.
Spec is 1/10 of 1% through the full range on initial certification and 2/10 of 1% on recertification.
Given what you say your scale reads I don’t think it will pass.

Your scale may meet IGFA specs and would be allowed.
