    Tires on Craigslist ?

Has anyone bought tires on craigslist ? I am looking for a set and see some that are new. Think they are stole or seconds ?

I saw some too, but I never got any email replies when I asked about the tires. My guess is that many items on craigslist and Ebay are stolen, but how are we to know?

The set I have on NOw I bought off craigslist about a year ago. It was a set of custom Helos with stome BF AT's on them. THey had about 20,000 miles left on them and I got them for 600.00 versus almost 1,000 just for tires at Discount. Now they are getting bald and ive been looking for some new ones on there recently. I wouldnt hesitate just have to use your judgment. I always carry my pistol and have it ready when making craiglist transactions. I just hope your not looking at the set Im wanting to get lol

I almost always buy my tires off of craigslist. I always try and meet the person in a public place like a grocery store parking lot......

I bought a set of wheels/tires off Craig's list. The kid bought a new truck and put bigger tires/wheels on it. take offs are a good deal. But like was said...use good judgement.

I have purchased tires for our lease trucks off of Craig's List. I have even gotten FREE tires off of Craig's List.

My son has sold tires on Craigslist several times. He bought them new for his truck and then ended up selling the truck. He pulled the tires off and sold them on Craigslist. They were less than a year old. I'm sure that all of the stories are not like this but I'm sure that you can find good tires on there that are not stolen.

look for tires that are original, like tires that where new on a new vehicle but the owner wanted some nice flashy new rims and tires on them and now they are left with the originals and need to get rid of them now if you buy some off craigslist or eBay that are really nice and expensive most likely they are stolen or with the economic times we are in someone needs the cash and you just happen to need some wheels. Most of all just use your best judgment and whenever you meet someone meet in a public place and not private and don't give out any personal info.

I wondering how you can tell if they 2nds or rejects ? Or are there 2nds and rejects in the tire industry ? I know there are recaps in big truck tires.

I just bought a set of 265/70/r 17 off craigslist on tues, they were from an 07 tahoe that a guy just wanted to unload since he put 20's on his truck, these tires have maybe 5k on them and fit my suburban to a T....I had been looking for almost two weeks, lots of crap out there, good tires and good deals dont last long on craigslist...
