SGM Waugh was a legend in the Legion. He and others had a major influence on US Army Special Forces today. The reputation and foundation that makes up the lineage of 5th SFG (A) were established by men like SGM Waugh. All of us that have served with the Legion have done so on the shoulders of giants! RIP SGM DOL.

Thanks for posting his story, very interesting. Sent to Afghanistan at 72, to look for Bin Laden, that's a BA. RIP Sr.

Wow, what a life. When I read obits like his I'm always reminded of that quote by George Orwell:

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

And Mike Day has died, too.
Mike Day, a decorated Navy SEAL shot 27 times during a firefight in Iraq in 2007, passed away on March 27.
