Gander Mtn gift cards do not expire. Rewards Vouchers from our Credit card expires in 90 days,,solution ...go to the Store and buy a gift card with your rewards voucher. I do this some. Our gift cards are not charged a monthy fee....what you buy is what you get. Gift cards are suppose to be the same as money.

I believe if you see a Manager at BPS, you might get some results.

        Good Luck

            It's called "escheat" ...

If a retailer sells you a gift card that does not expire, you have just acquired a right to some of their assets, and that right does not expire. If you don't claim that property, it becomes unclaimed property and, after a time, "escheats" to the state.

Technically, they are supposed to report unclaimed property to the state on an annual basis and turn the value of unclaimed property over a certain age over to the state comptroller.

This is a huge administrative hassle and financial burden on the retailer (which, of course, they pass along to you, the consumer), so many retailers have started putting expiration dates on gift cards. If the gift card has an expiration date, it does not confer an absolute property right, and escheat laws do not apply.

I had a BPS gift card that was 3 years old. Found out it was expired, calle dthe number on the back and had a replacement card in about a week. Just becasue the card expired, does not mean the money is gone. Just gotta do some nice talking! Especially tell them you were saving them for a big purchase.

Keep a close eye on your gift cards. Some of them start charging a monthly "administrative" fee after a 9 months to a year. They will hit your card with a $2.50 fee every month until it is worthless. The last place that you want this to happen is at a restaraunt, after you have eaten, and try to use a gift card to pay.

There are pretty stringent laws related to gift cards in Texas. You might be able to convince BPS they are in violation and get them to let you redeem it.

This happens with alot of gift cards...we went to a restaurant in Temple one night, and went to pay with a 50 dollar gift card...it was almost a year old...it was worth exactly 7 bucks! Gift cards are a scam unless you use them right away...don't wait...spend now!

I had that happen on some bass pro gift cards and the store manager in Katy gave me new cards with the full value. Just go talk to them in person.
