They really are cool animals. But I've definitely been feeling that second statement you made. "They bug me when I don't know where they are." My mom had a really bad snake problem last Fall. I thought I could go out and find a den when it warmed up this Spring but I've walked all over and ain't seen one snake so far. She hates snakes and she runs a dog rescue so I know it's stressing her out because she's thinking about snake bit dogs. As much as I like finding them, they can sure be a pain in the butt. I'm a snake huntin guy. It's frustrating when I can't find 'em. I'm supposed to be that guy that can.

One theory I have but is almost impossible to confirm is the sand covered and filled the den up. It's the dryest I've ever seen it here. Dry land crops never came up so there are lots of bare fields here. The sand blows so bad when the wind gets up it's unbelievable. It literally reminds me of a desert out at her house. There are drifts of sand everywhere. I'm thinking the snake den may have been filled in with sand. Which if that's the case they'll all die because they can't get out. Which solves that problem. But, if it hasn't they'll leave the den eventually and it's back to square one.

You didn't mean that in the same sense probably. But I have the same thoughts on it. If I don't know where they are it definitely bugs me. I gotta get those son of a guns gone and they're being stubborn. For such an interesting, beautiful and cool creature they sure can get on a persons nerves.

And if my mom runs into one that looks like that one I posted above, you'll hear the gunshots and cussin clear in Texas. She'll be shooting like her life depends on it. That son of a buck will be in pieces all over the yard.
