The last stop of our 20ish day tour-
Texas state park Copper Breaks near Quanah Texas.
This park is decently spread out, has a pond and a lake to fish, both need water bad. The pond isn’t easy to access and full of moss, the lake is low but weed/ moss free. My son was able to pluck one LMB from it before dinner time.
Total miles this trip- (to Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Rock Mountain National Park and back) 4523. (Not all towing)
This is our second 20 day trip. The previous was both sides (North and South) of the Grand Canyon with plenty of stops each way.
Some thoughts- this trip Peaked for us days 10 through 14 . After that we were spent, still in the groove but wore down.
We skipped some of the Rocky Mountain National park do to fatigue.
7-8 hours drives on the way home are doable for me. Any less and it’s like why are we stopping already, any more and my rear is ready for a break.
It will be Texas based trips for the remainder of this year.
One at the Guad, one at the beach and one at COTA for the MotoAmerica races. [emoji1303]
Time to replenish the vaca fund [emoji51] before the next big something.
P.s. - for all you greasers, my trailer bearings did get some squirts 1/2 way the trip.
We did the beach yesterday and ended it with the Koe Wetzel concert. We will be heading home this evening. 700 mile trek, probably leaving around 4:00.
After living in ours almost 300 days while building, and having canceled trips for the past 4 months, we are headed to Galveston tomorrow for a few days. We will let the builder get the shower/mirrors installed first of the week and final clean so we can move in when we return. Much needed get away.
I have to say our Grand Design Transcend systems have been top notch. Glad we'll be able to give it a rest til fall.
