    goats for huisache control

Ive been reading articles about using goats for brush control. No hands-on experience in doing this. Has anyone on the green screen done anything similar? I have roughly 25 acres of 2.5 yr old Huisache growth I need killed/removed. So now its a balance of cost/labor. Mulchers are the quickest and most expensive. Chainsaws cheapest.
I am curious of goats can really do this. No experience with goats other than eating them on a tortilla

Many places around the world do this, several people in California rent goats for controlling brush. I’m not sure what the plant is your wanting gone but likely they will eat it. I have seven goats on 11 acres and no problem with out of control weeds or brush. They can only eat so high even on their back legs stretched out. You can’t go wrong putting goats on there if even temporarily.

Nothing kills Huisache other than digging it out, spraying it multiple times and burning I don't think. Goats will likely just eat the leaves off and then eat them again when they grow back! Good luck, not easy stuff to control at all!!!

Now, if you have patches of poison oak and ivy, goats LOVE that stuff and will eat it down to the ground!

        Brushtrooper,
See if you can google the name of the company that actually contracts their goats to Victoria Texas. They have been using goats to control the riverbank area around the parks. I believe they had one or two herds with mixed variety of breeds. I think the city of Austin also uses goats for weed control.
