Think it mainly when using tapatalk. One reason I stopped using it.

When you load from your photo library, the picture size is at the bottom of the screen. Click on ‘actual’ and you should get a drop down with some picture sizes. Pick ‘medium’. Usually safe.

If you use tapatalk I can’t help you, but from my iPad it always asks me what size to use. I used to have to always resize but improved wifi lets me post nearly anything. I usually post the next to largest though. Some have a workaround for tapa and they will probably be along shortly.

Depending on the size of the image as captured, the larger the file the more space it takes up. Duh…

Some of the photos are large because we are embedding the HTML image link from other photo services like Google or amazon photos. In this pic, Im embedding it via the URL of my Google hosted photo and it doesnt resize.

I use Imgur and it makes huge photos. THF has an auto resize but TBH doesn’t.

Or for posting pic from iphone to TBH,
I screen shot pic, then edit screen shot to manually resize pic to desireable viewing pleasure size, save and post. I often use 9:16 portrait and size the box down a smidge and zoom pic.

There is something about not screen-shotting before resizing a pic seems to take forever to load for a post or the pic load errors.
