KTCK 1310 am / 96.7 fm is reporting that Texas Rangers broadcasting Hall of Fame radio announcer, Eric Nadel, is out for awhile dealing with mental health issues. I've really enjoyed his broadcasts over the years. The guy has the gift of being able to paint the picture. Hope is gets the help he needs.

I’m not prepared for a world without Erik Nader calling Ranger games.

Nadel is a great one. Hope he gets well soon
If you have 10 mins, give this a listen- my favorite call of all time is Scully calling Kofax's perfect game in the 9th. Perfection on every level

Eric Nadel is a Certified Master Wordsmith.
He knows his sabermetrics and is also fond of limericks. (Before listening to him, I only knew one - "There once was a man from Nantucket . . . ).
One day I was in my truck listening to his pre-game broadcast of a Ranger - Royals game. He explained how the sabermetric "Weighted Runs Created" was not particularly reliable, and then went on to paint an incredible picture of the KC field and the uniforms worn by the teams that day.
He inspired me to write my first and only limerick.
From the man who truly hated
The term “weighted runs created”
Comes “The sky is a powder blue Like the KC uniform hue”
And the fans were all elated!
Hope we hear Eric back on the radio soon.
