Just be glad you don't own a Ford or Dodge. All of them have had their share of tranny failures. Dodge may be the worst pre 2020 models.
One thing that will kill an automatic transmission almost immediately is back flushing and changing the fluid. NEVER let one of these oil change places talk you into that service. You are better off never touching it other than adding fluid if it gets low from a tail carrier bearing seal leak.
Seems that most auto transmission failures result from towing or hauling excessively heavy loads. Overheating the transmission fluid will hurt the clutches and sooner or later it will burn up.

Approximately $3k to rebuild wife's 2014 Yukon transmission at Greens Transmission in Waco with a 10K mile warranty.

FYI, all 4 majors Toyota, Dodge, Ford and Chevy have had class action suits filed over the transmission failures. To date only Ford and Chevy have had to anti up and fix things. For Chevy it was the 8 speed that I am sure of. For Ford it was the 10 speed in F150's and also some of the smaller cars and SUV's. Luck of the draw sort of thing and not unique to only one manufacturer.

Another thing that is extremely hard on auto trannys is shifting to forward while still rolling backwards or vice versa. I see people do it all the time especially backing out of driveways or parking spots. Come to a complete stop before shifting to drive. Your transmission will thank you for it.
If you tend to pull heavier loads than your truck is rated for (like I do) drive a little slower so the fluid doesn't overheat.
