Self inflicted wound. If I was that brand of camera I'd have shot myself too.

On a serious note, I have a camera with that exact same issue that I found yesterday. Cows had knocked it upside down on the tree a couple weeks ago. When I went to grab it yesterday, I found a hole like that on the motion sensor. Its still working but I'm sure moisture will ruin it if I can't fix it.
