We did not rent a car, we used cabs the entire time. They are reasonable there. We took the fish to restaurants and had them cook it but the house does offer a private chef.

Man, I have to say that our experience was real similar. I love me some Costa Rica. Congrats on the sails. Those look like really good ones. And on the tuna and mahi too. And our favorite place to eat in Quepos is The Marlin right next to the Burro. This does make me appreciate my catching a marlin though.
Pura Vida!

I'm gonna have to look up all this stuff you did. How much was the fishing charter? Sailfish is on my bucket list for sure! The Double Nickel offers Quepos fishing charters located in beautiful Quepos Costa Rica at the world class marina Pez Vela.
It was $2150 a day but we got a small discount for booking multiple days. We booked this boat for two families to fish on thinking we were going to have 8 of us for each trip. You can go for $1000 a day on a smaller boat if you only have a few people going.
