There are a couple of good books out there containing only a few multi-syllable words that are quite interesting. The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous is where I would begin. Would provide a good foundation.

Bitcoin naysayers will never go away. They disappear when bitcoin is in rally mode but always come back in full force on down swings. Weird how these same people tell others to buy stocks when "on sale" when markets are going down though.

I don’t understand how this can happen when scammers and internet thieves rip people off every day. Over 10 billion last year. And now when the system crashes and we can’t get our money how does the cashless society react. They loose their s**t!!

I will keep what little cash I get and keep this American tradition alive. Pay with cash!!!

I’ve invested in stocks and crypto that I’ve read about here because I then go do research on it. Some I had great returns on, some have been complete piles of crap. Not the fault of the member that posted about it that I chose to invest and lost money. I hate that people have no accountability for them selves

When crypto is doing ok the sunshine pumpers come out and tell you you'll be rich. When it goes down, crickets. Same for any stock. If you take financial advice from some rando on a forum you take a huge risk. The ones making real money ain't telling everyone else how.

I didn’t lose money, because I knew what was going to happen. But there were guys on here talking about sure things, and million dollar scores. Shouting down folks like me who were telling people to be cautious. Amping guys up, and giving them all the tools and advice to get in over their heads in something they didn’t understand, but desperately wanted to be a part of after all of the constant talk of easy money. They walked them step by step through the process of dumping cash into whatever they were peddling, and then those million dollar scores turned into 90+% depreciations in weeks, over and over again, but not before the original guys managed to dump theirs at the right time for a profit, while assuring everyone else to stay the course. The folks who invested their money and lost it definitely deserve some blame, but so do the guys who came on here pumping up fly by night cryptos that those uninformed investors never would’ve even heard of if not for them. Which goes back to the main point of my post, and which you seem to agree with: don’t take advice from people on this site when it comes to crypto. Find an expert that actually knows what they’re talking about if you want to invest.

I agree that you should find a professional to advise you on any investments be it stocks, crypto, land, a business etc. but I do not feel bad for people who lost money chasing the golden goose. There is tons of info available to the retail investor and adults can make their own decisions. I made stupid returns on some crypto. I made incredible returns on some stocks. I also held some for longer than I should have and got stuck holding a bag after people dumped them. By the time you’re getting tips from the random public on a stock or crypto, you’re too late. I still trade a lot of the **** coins to just make quick gains. 20-30% in a day is great. I have some like btc, xrp and hbar that I’ve cashed out on and left a good amount to ride. It’ll go to zero or my grandchildren’s grandchildren will be happy I was stupid enough to gamble

Kind of like hoarding cash. It’s fake and has no real value other than what the government and market say

They can crash the financial system and have the perfect fall guy in place, most likely happen before election.
Banks are no longer focused on driving revenue they are focused on educating clients on digital.
Banks own a huge portion of granted blockchain patents.
We are already around 90% (guess) cashless society.

They hide it better under the wording of "dollar cost averaging". That roughly translates to not take ownership of a bad trade. Could be a good stock just a bad time to be in it. Why not sell high and buy back in lower?

What if the people in crypto used the same technique and dollar cost averaged as it fell? Was that a bad trade or a good strategy that is usually promoted. They're sitting pretty if it rebounds.

And what happened to diversification? Why not have 5-10% of assets in crypto?
