    G5 Megameat

Anyone have any experience with these heads? I’ve seen all the pics of the big entry holes but how do they hold up? Any issues with blades not opening or breaking? Would this be your go to expandable??

Pretty sure there’s been some kills by members using those. I’m wanting to say Fishndude for one has used them and posted video.

Check the broadhead damage thread. Lots of us have pics and reviews there

This is my go to head, I’ve killed pigs, javelina and deer with them. Devastating wounds and great blood trail. The blades could be thicker but they make replacements. One thing I will say is don’t shoot them into a target because the blades do not fold backwards and they will break. But I have found the practice points are very accurate to the flight of the heads themselves.

Don’t shoot a big pig with them. Otherwise, they’re devastating but blades are thin and weak. They sell a replacement blade pack. Get one and you’re good. Easy to replace em.

Yeah my go to head. I haven’t had one break, but did bend some blades. Replaced then and it’s good to go

I watched a video of someone shooting into foam and when they pulled the heads out the blades were all broken!

What would you expect? I was blessed to kill 3 deer and a Turkey with them last season and they just plain ,outright Kill! If used in rock country they are a 1 time broad head or rebevel the head and use them on turkeys! I have not had any blades completely break and that’s after going through two ribs then to hit rock in Rocksprings , bent but not broken. They fly true and they open every time even at hard angles. The blood trails they create are massive and don’t go far . They are what they are. I use G5 Montecs for pigs .

                    Looks like a good head.

I tend to stick with heads like a Grim reaper or Wasp Jackhammer personally though.

I mean I would expect my broadhead not break in foam lol [emoji23]

They are the perfect head if you’re a “hit em a little back” guy. I guided some gut shooters this past deer season, we recovered all of the deer, only because of this broadhead. They tended to aim and hit middle middle.

No, what I was getting at , I assumed he pulled the broadhead out in reverse! If he pulled them out in reverse they May break a blade but it would definitely tear up his target. If he shot and pulled from the opposite side like a pass through then I highly doubt it broke a blade. But hey, stranger things have happened .

I’m a big fan of the G5 Megameats. They’ve been good to me. They leave monster entry and exit holes on deer.

The Deadmeats are really good as well.

I hit my buck this past season too far forward than I meant to. I was impressed that the megameat got past that onside leg and got the offside leg as well. The blood trail was impressive for the less than ideal shot placement.

It did break off one blade but I was happy with the penetration considering.

Here’s the video of the shot…..
