Heck of an outlook from the coach, JD. Did he say what they were stealing?

Ask him if that applies to coaches/consultants as well

No it wouldn’t have been equal. Inflation runs at 3%. 2.5% increase is going to keep you at least a 1/2% on the negative side, even in good times.

The only person who ever paid me what I was worth was me. I was an employee for the first two years of my working life. Never been an employee since.

Companies will pay what they think you are worth.

If you feel you are worth more, tell them you so and see if they compensate you accordingly.

If they don’t, find someone who will pay you what you think you are worth.

If you can’t find someone who will, well…….

Yeah, I read a lot of these types of posts/messages. I've been a manager of some sort for many, many years and the 80/20 rule seems to reign wherever I look. EVERYONE feels like they are more valuable to the company than others and want a raise and more pay. The reality is that about 20% tend to do 80% of the work and those are the ones that truly deserve big paychecks. When is the last time you read a thread that said, "I do the minimum to get by at my company and I'm hoping they don't realize it and I'll get a pay raise".

Many people are that valuable, though, and to those people that can look in the mirror and say, "I give 100% every day, and do a **** good job of it" and not be self-delusional, ask for the raise. Your employer KNOWS you are worth it and will usually step up... That's not 100% but in my current company the division has maybe 100 people in the group. I can count on one hand the people that are truly making or trying to make a difference. The rest are on auto-pilot...

My son owns his own food business. He told me Friday that he has some food supplies that have increased 154% and overall his food costs have tripled since Biden took office. Somehow he is still able to make it work with higher volumes.
A large part of his clientele are pro athletes so cost to them is not that much of a problem I guess.

If your team falls into the 20/80 rule you need a new team. There is no chance I’d keep 6 of my 8 reps on if they were producing. I’ve seen it at larger companies like when I worked for cintas out of school but in todays market if my sales reps are over goal they know they’re going to be replaced. Out of our North America team which is probably 75-80 field reps I bet less than 3 are below goal and they’re all on notice.
