Prayers for the family on the loss of this young man.

Mental health is a serious concern, but unless someone with this speaks out or someone close sees a problem, it is hard to see. I lost a good friend many years ago to suicide. Saw him almost everyday for several years in my shop and always had a smile on his face and always talked about his travels with his wife and how I needed to do the same with mine. THEN, one day he drives right by my shop on his way to a lake to take his own life. A complete shock to everyone, except for maybe the people he worked with as it was revealed later there were problems at work but no one at the work place would talk to him about it! Sad deal.

So very sad. Sometime in the next year or so, I would encourage you and his other family members to attend Griefshare or something similar. I've lost several very close friends and my dad over the past few years. I'm attending now and its been helpful. Sincerest condolences.

Prayers sent. We had a local fireman commit suicide Wednesday in his truck at the firestation parking lot. No one knew he was hurting.

That's sadly where a lot of us fail. Sometimes the warning signs are ignored. I've heard people in my lifetime say things like they'd wanted to kill themselves if things were chaotic at work or wherever. That's nothing to say even if it's tongue in cheek nonsense. I'll speak up about it. I don't like that kind of talk.

Not saying that's what your buddy was doing. I'm just saying. I try to pay close attention to things because I know how these kind of things go. I'll tell people I need them around just so they'll know. And when I say it I mean it. It ain't just talk.

There ain't no shame in telling someone you love em. Better now than later. Those headstones don't tell you they love you back.
