    Unique axis buck

I have an acquaintance that hunted a low fence ranch recently and got this axis buck.
He said it was 216 lbs, 33” and 31” beams with that unique 3rd beam

Is this rack fairly common or rare for axis bucks?

Extremely rare. I've seen many and this is a first..

They hardly ever have extra points much less an extra beam.

          Very nice!

I've seen one other that had even more points killed in Mountain Home about 20 years ago.

My son killed this one on our place this past summer. Saw him in velvet in December, then got lucky and caught him slipping in July.

Very cool buck. Not many like him running around out there.

The year before. Only time I saw him that year.

Rare to see an extra beam. I shot an 8 point axis buck a while back. He was an old warior.

ALL of his antler tips were broken. He had one 3" section of horn hanging in velvet... yep he broke off one beam while still in velvet.

shot him as he followed a doe.

Congrats to the hunter on a unique buck.

I had one that had 14 points total, let him go another year and shot him, ended up being more normal but had a 7 inch drop tine. It happens, just not very often.
