I wasn’t meaning anything derogatory, for what it’s worth.
Old numbers are pretty random and innocuous, and don’t tell the whole story for most, I imagine.
Just interesting to go back and look at.

First Million Dollars in Income

I think it is generational. I was taught to never ask a man how much he made, how many acres he owned or how many cattle he had. I probably never heard anyone asked that in my first 30 years of life. Hear it all the time now.
This thread did none of that by the way.

Same, oddly it was my mother who taught me that…except for the cattle. I didn’t know anyone who had enough cattle that I couldn’t count them from the road, aside from dairymen, and they’d tell ya.
It does drive me nuts when my employees discuss their own compensation packages though. I tell them all that if that is your only reason for asking me for a raise, you’re not likely to appreciate my answer. And that discussing it takes away my ability to treat them as individuals.
I don’t discuss what I make either, but I do find it interesting how we all started. Lessons to be learned.

Man I respect you as a member on here so I won’t stoop to name calling All I did was agree with Dale. If you don’t want to participate by answering the OP’s question then you certainly don’t have to. No one is giving away any real personal info. It’s just a conversation. Turns out a few folks didn’t know they could look at their lifetime earnings. At least this thread was a positive for that.
