    Quail

Anyone know a place to hunt quail that is not ridiculously overpriced like most places in Texas. I looked on a site today and saw their prices and it just is unbelievable to me that anyone would pay that much to hunt birds. I guess they can do it cause people pay it, but seems like when I was younger we would hunt birds anywhere for next to nothing. I have places and friends with leases and ranches I have gone in the past, but I am looking for a new place. Any ideas? Also, I am looking for a place I can take MY dog to work. Thanks for the help.

I hear there are some birds off Bee Creek Road. I got a buddy that lives out there, his daughter hates me, but he owes me a favor, on account of I bailed his brother out of jail one night in El Segundo after a long night of drinking vampiro and getting in a knife fight with a man named Juan from El Capitan. If you want, I can call him and ask him.

This too must have a story.....

Sorry for the post interuption....as you were gentlemen....the password is "quail"....twenty seconds please.

All I can add is my neighbor is a quail hunter afficianado (sp) and has a kennel he trains dogs. He said the quail population was so poor because of the dry conditions last year that he didn't bother going even once.....and he's hardcore.

Good luck on finding some birds to hunt....

quail are in high demand this year, which is driving the price up, you can thank the dry weather for that one. Did you check out Spanish Oak? They are out of quail and not sure they can get anymore anytime soon due to the demand, but they have pheasant and chukar that are flight conditioned. Hunt prices are pretty cheap also

I think it is going up due to the high fences and pen raised birds....

I would make a deal if you are willing to make the trip down here to Mexico.

Upland Bird Country in Corsicana is pretty reasonable.

With the quail numbers being so low this year, released birds are your only safe bet.
