Well, I'm always surprised and honored by this but honestly didn't expect this as the 3rd knife this year (no this isn't a humble brag but I suppose we like to share "accomplishments" occasionally - and this is my family so there! haaaa)
The Fordite knife was one I shared the build along here a couple months ago and a friend in the knifemaking community as well as the Forged in Fire knife show folks sent me a note on the book of faces today showing me the pic to let me know as I still haven't received my March issue of Blade Magazine. Great fun to see it in there and I actually just wrapped up a similar build but with some Chevy Fordite I was able to get ahold of with some unique swirls in the paint and how it settled and cured on the paint floor of the Chevy manufacturing plant. Below are a few pics of the knife published as well as the newest version. This one had micarta pins in it to add some matching colors to pop. Thanks for looking and previous encouragement from the brotherhood that's kept me going at it!
All vinework designs were done purely by hand with metal files of different shapes (not dremels) to leave refined flowing angles and I've enjoyed playing aroudn with some new file designs to start putting into future works - we shall see....
