Heck if anything it increases their chance of selling it cleaned up and looking good. Unfortunately in this day and age you can’t trust everybody …even on TBH. There are many stories of folks getting burned here and should make one cautious.

On that note, I ask for pics and I ask questions. If they can’t provide them in this day and age with camera phones, no way in hell am I buying it. I’m not missing out on something in my mind if I can’t see it in the first place. There are plenty of other opportunities. I’d buy new before I gambled. Sucks what happened to you. It happens. Expensive lesson learned …. but hopefully helpful moving forward.
Yes sir. My last words to the seller is, " as long as it looks like described and shown in pictures and doesn't look like it's been dragged behind a truck, then we'll have a deal".

Your descriptive word you used to described the 1st guy is telling of who you are.

If I show up to buy something. If it doesn't fit, look, feel, taste, or works as I wished it would. I wouldn't purchase.

I agree with cleaning things up you are trying to sell. I`ve seen thing on here that I would be embarrassed to show. I`ve sold 2 things on here in the past 6 months and spent an hour on cleaning each of them before taking a picture. I`ve also told every person that I sold something too, to bring it back if they weren`t happy with it.

Yep red flag when they say just dirty or needs to be cleaned. To **** lazy to put an effort to clean something, or taking a pic of something that's covered up in a pile of *****.

I can't post pics, I have tried resizing, down to where I couldn't see the detail and it still keeps loading. I will send pics to anyone to post for me or in a text. I figure I am missing something in the image address. That being said I have only had good transaction on here and some of the items were better than described (imo) and some not so.

Ktex is not his own problem. Shouldnhe have asked for pics, sure. However he was going on past experiences and the sellers of the stuff should have done their due diligence in providing what they were advertising. Buyer beware at all times

I've had probably 50-60 buys from the classifieds and I've only been shafted twice so far.
Once on game cams from a longtime member.(He sold me junk. He lied)but I should have known better to buy used cameras!!!

The other time was 2 STIC knives from the knife maker himself. They look cool but are hard to sharpen and will not hold an edge for chit.. They are useless IMO..

You sound like a woman with your impulsive buying things you don't really need if you're just giving the things away because you're not happy with about your purchase.

Slow down and save a little more money and buy new.

                          until this year.

Bought a yeti soft cooler…..I asked if it was in like new condition and if so I’d buy it. Guy confirmed and I went to pick it up…….it was apparent that he didn’t check on condition prior to me picking I up. I kept a positive attitude and figured this guy is just retarded and I’ll clean it up when get home. It was junk and I tossed it.

Bought a garmin fish finder from a a p/y guy……there used to be trust in that….for me no more. Base for it was trashed, no mention of that on the post. In a nutshell I gave it to a kid up the street that had a kayak.

I went through the transactions which is why I’m not throwing anybody under the bus.
So you’ve been buying and selling for 10 years on here. Ok I’d like to break down your posts.

“it was apparent that he didn’t check on condition prior to me picking it up.” If the poor condition was so apparent you should have told the buyer so before giving him the cash.

“I kept a positive attitude and figured this guy is just retarded.”
You thought he was retarded? . Sounds like you didn’t keep that positive attitude very long.

You literally had eyes on both products. They weren’t what you hoped they would be yet you purchased them anyway at the buyers asking price while saying nothing. That is on you. Although I agree with Smarts post. Folks should do a better job, but man you can’t blame this on the seller. “Like new” is a matter of opinion. In your opinion it wasn’t like new when you saw it. You should have offered less money or simply declined the purchase.

Again you shouldn’t just “let it go.” Making a bad purchase and complaining to others later is not learning from your mistakes. It’s your money and your decision to choose to buy it or not. You picked it up yourself! That’s what I have a hard time understanding. You instantly saw it wasn’t in like new shape, but chose to say nothing and buy it anyway.

You’re still handling it incorrectly! Staying “out of the classifieds from now on.”

Why? Man I don’t know you, but you come off as very immature. Both of these purchases were handled poorly by the sellers and more importantly by you. They didn’t take your money at gunpoint.

Hopefully you will read this without getting offended and take it as constructive criticism. Do your due diligence with every purchase on here or anywhere else and only pay when the product is as advertised by the seller. If you decide to make purchases for another 10 years or hide from the classifieds over this it’s your choice. Best of luck to you.

                              Looking at pictures at least.
Seeing something in person is best but not always possible.
I don’t have a problem with what OP posted. You know the old saying “ one man’s junk is another man’s treasure “ that could apply coming or going!

Only bad experience I had on here was holding a shotgun a guy wanted to buy for a couple of weeks, and passing a couple of offers for it in the process. Then the time comes and he “had some family stuff come up” and couldn’t buy it, but then I see where he’s making offers on other guns. Ended up taking me a month to get another buyer. That one ****** me off.
