I'm in Brazoria and I've used North Texas Tannery in Denton several times, with good results. Google them

Double Nickle in New Braunfels has done a good job for me in the past.

Great price but expect it to take 10 to 14 months. No joke. I have had 3 hides tanned there.

unless you are going to use a taxidermist- I think there are only several tanneries in the US that will deal with the public as "walk in" orders. As mentioned North Texas is one of those. There used to be a sponsor on here on out of Weimer, Tx that would also do it, Longhorn Tannery or Lone Star ??

Otherwise a registered taxidermist will have lots of places to chose from. There are at least 4-5 commercial tanneries in the Houston area but none will deal with a one off public order to my knowledge.

                    NTT

I used to use The Nugget Company here in town but the priced me out.

Most of if not all taxis ship hides off to tanneries. I’m guessing a mark up is involved, LOL.

$58 at Moyle Monk and Tannery. Ask for intact fur dressing tan instead of taxidermy tan.
Has to be fleshed, salted and dried though to send in.
                      They do good work.

I used Wildlife Artistry in Hondo. Artisan Fur operates out of the same building, which makes all sorts of stuff with the hides if desired. I had 2 hides tanned for 200$ each which they do in house at Wildlife Artistry and had Artisan Fur make 3 pillows from the hides with the last half of the hide to be used as a background for my arrowhead display. Total was about 680$.

Depending on what you have NTT may or may not take it. I have used them before with good results but have heard in the last few years they quit doing some hides so call before you go or mail them

NTT is all we have ever used. But it’s been 3 years since we sent them anything. They were always swamped. Don’t be in a hurry if you go to them. Always did great work though.

                              LHT is no more..
Alvin Emmel, the owner of Longhorn Tannery, was tradgecically killed a few years back in an accident involving his tractor.. Such a sad deal. He was a great fella and a friend..
