    Recommend me an air compressor.

I currently have a 20 (or so) gallon Husky 120v 130 psi air compressor. I mainly use it mostly to run a air hammer once a month to remove bullet points from rock augers to rebuild the augers. The old compressor works ok for airing up tires and small stuff like that, but it has has a few leaks and just doesn’t put out enough air for what I need. I’m probably looking for a 220v, at least 150psi, single or 2 stage (not really sure) in about a 50-60 gallon size compressor. Id rather stay under $1000 if possible. Why do y’all suggest? This will be a stationary unit mounted near or inside my barn, if that matters.
    Thanks,

Not sure how much this will help, but here's my story. Found a damaged Ingersoll 60 gal unit at TSC and wheeled and dealed. Left with it for $400. Sent the warranty dept an email, and got all replacement parts in the mail a couple of days later. Have had no problems with it at all. I believe it's a $1K compressor, unless you can find a damaged one.

I’ll check in the scratch and dent isles in all the local stores.
(anyone want to go on a scratch and dent binge in my local TSC?).

Used Speedaire might be doable for that budget. Worth every penny.

          That's how you do it!!!

If you can't go that route, wait for the sales.

I went with an 80 gallon Flexzilla, but they're a few $$$ over budget. Anyways, it has an Eaton air pump so I went to Eaton to see if I could find a maintenance manual. Eaton has their own line of compressors! They are identical to the Flexzillas for a grand less!

If you don't go IR (which is a brand you SHOULD go with), then look into whoever makes the air compressor for the brand you're looking at. Also, get some pads for the feet.
