    More Cub Scout Stuff

This Saturday, we attended the Coastal Plains District Awards dinner. This is basically a dinner that recognizes all the Eagle Scouts from the prior year, as well as adult leadership awards/recognition.

Konnor was asked beforehand, to lead the entire crowd in the Scout Oath, which he did from memory. I have done a few Eagle Board of Reviews where the 17 year old Boy Scout stumbled on this, but Konnor knocked it out of the park at 9 years old.

Konnor received "Cub Scout of the Year" for our pack. This is the first year for this award so it was pretty special.

Through the last few years, I have slowly become more and more involved in a lot of our District events. I didn't think much of it, but I guess it hasn't gone un-noticed. I received "2022 Coastal Plains Award", "2022 District Advancement Award", "2022 Phenomenal Scouter Award", "2022 Best Rocket Day Ever Award", and the prestigious "2022 Jerry Vyvial Gator Award".

Together, Tina, Konnor and I got the "2022 Family of the Year Award".

Several others from our pack also took home awards. It was a great night amongst our Scouting family.

Congrats Kevin. Konnor is a lucky kid to have such an involved dad in his life! So many don’t.

                  Awesome!

My son joined Boy Scouts a year ago. Really I guess we both joined a year ago. I've been to just about every meeting and camping trip. A couple of months ago I volunteered to be the advancement chair for our troop.

My son and I enjoy participating. It's really become a thing that he and I can do together. I've seen my boy set goals and work at them without me having to push him. Wish we would have gotten involved with scouting sooner.
