    Fence builder quote

Is anyone on here a fence builder in the Tomball/Klein/Spring area? My in-laws have a section of their fence they are wanting replaced. Looking for quotes. Just looking at it, about 64ft of fence(8 sections, assuming 8ft each), Rot board at the bottom, 7ft fence. I will attach a few pictures because I’m sure I’m not giving the info a builder needs to actually give a quote.

In addition they have a little section off their master bathroom that I guess serves as like a privacy thing? I don’t know. I attached photos of that too that they are looking for a separate quote on. They mainly want to start with the fence, can do this part after.

I don’t give a lot to go on, it’s not my area of expertise. But here are some photos.

I’m guessing around $28 per foot.

I was wondering what the average per foot price was. I know builders have it figured out that way. That gives me an estimate.

$28 per foot is already saving them $1000 over the first quote they got.

3 rail with a rot board and cedar pickets. It gets pricey. Been a while since I built privacy fence though.

Power wash and stain. Unless it's rotten you'll be surprised. May give them a few more years at least.

It’s rotten. Plus the house next door sold and new owners also want to replace it.

First quote was sky high. At that price I told them I will take leave and come down and do it. That quote was about $44 a foot.

Pricing has gone way down. Guys in the market should be putting out $20-25/ft with galvanized 2-3/8" posts

                  $28 verses $44

My question is if the lesser quote is just for the new fence or is tear down and remove also in the figure. If not the $44 doesn't seem to bad since a lot of labor will be involved in the removal of the old fence.

Would include tear down and removal. Maybe that’s where I’m not adding up correctly on the cost.

In North Texas that would be $30-31/ft. 6' tall dogear raw cedar, treated 2x4 rails and 2x6 rot board on steel posts. Little more for prestained.

100% agree. I know it’s not a $500 job, and cheapest isn’t the best. The first quote just made me think “oh no that’s way high” but for all I know that’s the going rate.

Seems $30-$35 a foot might be the average going rate and what I’d expect to pay. I think the first quote is still on $70 a sheet of plywood pricing.

Tagged, as I need the same in SW Houston area. Also, would prefer galvanized posts.

                              Anyone have any recommended contractors?
