    The internet is bad

For a while now, I have been looking for some good knives to replace most of the knives I have. I have found a couple companies lately, that have some knives I really want to try out, I think multiple of the knives I have found lately, could work very well for me. But I keep searching just to see what is out there, maybe there is something closer to what I want out there. I have found a lot of very nice, cool, beautiful knives, and other cutting tools.

Well I found some very interesting stuff on a web site a few nights ago. I discovered a company called Dawson Knives. They have some nice stuff, they have some nice knives, but they have some other stuff, that is very nice. Here are some of the beautiful blades that Dawson Knives makes.

I have not figured out which one I like most. Dawson also makes a lot of Japanese Samurai style swords, I am just not into those, I have no Asian ancestry. I know the Japanese made some amazing swords, but just not my style of swords.

Curious what use you could have for these? Those are some big swords. Cool stuff.

I have wanted a beautiful large sword for years, maybe a few. One with some Viking, Scottish styling. I like old guns, old bows and other old things, swords were from days before guns. Then I have a decent percentage of Scottish ancestry. The things I find most interesting of my Scottish ancestry is their history of being very tough, hard fighting warriors and that they were descendants of Vikings.

Every time I get to reading about Scottish, or Viking history, or watching a documentary about one or the other, I start wanting a big Viking style sword. If I had the money, I would love to buy a real old Viking sword, I would bet that the few that are still in good condition cost a fortune.

A samurai sword would be awesome. Self defense ninja style. That'd be awesome. Someone whips a pistol out on ya and cut both his arms off.

You'd raise some eye brows walking through Walmart with that on your hip.

All you guys would just cut your own arm off if you had one of those.

They are too short. I'd need one like Braveheart had

If I had the money, I would. I know when I finally do buy a sword, my wife is going to look at me like I am crazy. She knows me well enough to know not to ask why.

Come on you can do it. I couldn't choose any of them myself.

The Scots are a Pictish Celt tribe. The “Vikings” were Germanic. They are in no way related and the Celts were in Scotland around 1000 BC about 1700 years before the Viking period. There are areas of Scotland that have Germanic influence both blood and culture but mostly through the Angles and Saxons (Anglo-Saxons) which predated the Viking era by centuries and ultimately defeated the Danes “vikings” in England thus ending the Viking era in 1066. Anglo Saxons and Danes we’re cousins as is obvious in the poem Beowulf. Viking era began in the late 600s so a very brief period. There is some “Viking” influence in coastal areas of Scotland that were seized during this period but the Scottish are a separate race than the “Vikings” and as I said pre dated them. There only ancestral link goes back thousands of years as Indo Europeans in what would be modern day Ukraine. Where all Europeans came from near the Caucus mountains ie Caucasians.

I looked and looked to find nothing. Who started the thread of the antique sword from Iceland (or somewhere like that)? Was found in a frozen ditch or something and in great shape considering the age. Within the last couple years...
