Went to Dublin last September. Really enjoyed it. We spent the first day doing the hop-on hop-off buses so we could get a layout of the city. The Guinness tour was fun. We could have spent a whole day at the National Museum of Ireland, it was neat. The Temple Bar area is touristy, but check it out to say you’ve been there. The idea that spurred the trip was Garth Brooks was playing, so we went to his concert one night. 80,000 drunk Irish people singing Garth songs was entertaining lol. We took a guided day trip to the Cliffs of Moher, it was worth it. If we had stayed another day, we would have taken the guided tour up to Belfast and learned the IRA history. We didn’t have a bad meal while we were there, we tried to stay away from the touristy spots and hit the local favorites. Overall we really enjoyed it

we did 10 days a couple years ago. We tend to do our own 'tours' and plan things wed like to see and just drive around and be able to stop and see things instead of a hard schedule. Walking tour of Dublin was good. I love Guiness, but felt the tour was overpriced and not one id recommend. We did the Jameson one in Middleton and it was great. Lots of interesting ruins. Cliffs of Moher and the islands are neat to see. Cashel was great. Id avoid Blarney castle. Hiked the Burren which was beautiful. Sheepdog demos. We stayed in the country AirBNBs a couple nights, but id recommend staying closer to town where you can hang out in the local pubs if you want to meet and talk to people. Unless you are near major city/highways, figure getting around at about 20-30mph on country roads. We miscalculated that and didnt cover alot of the areas we wanted to see thinking we could drive faster ha. Trinity Library in Dublin is amazing. Galway has some great pubs/music/shopping. As we were told, anything that looks nice and is old, was probably really built by English in the 1800s. Most of the actual Irish castles and stuff were just destroyed over and over by the Brits. Belfast is Northern Ireland (England) and if you have a rental car they charge for leaving the country. We did, because im a huge Titanic geek and had to go to Harland and Wolff to see the shipyard. Its also a very cool tour. I could go on and on if youd like to PM. You cant really go wrong if you just start googling things to see and plan from there. Bring a rain jacket and umbrella ha

My wife and I went on our honeymoon and took a guided tour. It was over St. Patricks Day, so there was a lot going on - especially in Dublin. Cliffs of Moher was really beautiful, but it is hit or miss dependent upon fog. Went to Blarney Castle and kissed the Blarney Stone. Galway Bay was worth visiting.
If you like going to old pubs, Ireland knocks it out of the part in regards to that. They have some really cool ones that are a few hundred years old. Oh, and if you order some Smithwick's Ale, it is pronounced "schmiddicks".
One thing that I was not really looking forward to, but ended up enjoying, was the Waterford Crystal factory.
In all, Ireland is a beautiful county to sight see. One thing that I brought back from Ireland is how much cleaner and well taken care of things are. They take pride in their possessions. Another thing that I thought was really neat that many may not appreciate was the abundance of rock fences along the countryside. Hope this helps.

Went in April for my 60th. Stayed at a hotel in Dublin. Toured the Irish Whiskey Museum. It was cool. Did a whiskey tasting tour with a girl we got from our Airbnb referral. Did a walking tour of Dublin. Definitely see the Trinity Library and GO UPSTAIRS. It was breathtaking. We walked about 23,000 miles per day but enjoyed it all.
We did a little drive to Glendalough and then on the Brae seashore to eat fish and chips by the ocean.
It was a great trip. Look forward to a return.
Irish peeps is much like Texans, very proud of their country.

Ireland is GREAT!! Wife and I went years ago. All we did was rent a car and drive the east coast up to Northern Ireland west a bit and back down through the middle. We had a place to stay booked the first night and the last night in or close to Dublin. After that we simply drove the country side stopping where we wanted to and testing as many Pubs as we could. Did small hikes all along the way and met so many GREAT folks!!! B&B's were plentiful and we simply drove until we got to a town/village we liked and picked one out. Had no issues at all. We were actually voted the best American Tourists ever at one Pub!! It was so much fun!!!! Go and enjoy it!!!
