PSA - 16' Garaage door spring & cable hubs

    well... got the hubs set with the cable even on bothsides. Tightened the spring tight(or so I thought). went outside to open it(figured it was safer)

    Door wouldn't budge. went back and tightened spring as much as I dared. tried to open it. It would go up but was still too heavy.

    Figure at this point, I may call a garage door guy in the morning. He would have better tools than my 2 pieces of 3/8 rebar to turn spring. I also may have done damage when it spun last night.

          Probably didnt damage anything, but they have to be wound much tighter than you would think.

            The door needs one full turn per foot height (7’ door 7 turns ) when I do them I do 1/4 turns so it’s easier to count

              yep... I did some research and I needed 28-30 1/4 turns. I was able to do 28. After ten I was thinking it was wound tight, like y'all said it is wound tighter than I would think.

              door opens easily now. Still hadn't found the wrench from last night though.
