Sorry you guys haven't seen me around in a few months.. As some of yall know I storm chase. There were some great chases I had this year but overall it was a very slow year.
Since it has been awhile from the last time I have been on. I saw the thread Johnny started about the Severe Weather in February.. Indeed Johnny was right. I was on the storm that went on to produce a monster EF4 tornado that tracked from Spanish Fort Tx up to Lone Grove OK and into western Ardmore. I was the first one to see and report the tornado to National Weather Service. That storm produced 2 tornadoes that I witnessed . First one was a skinny rope that was only on the ground for a very short time. This one occured near Belcherville Tx. Then it went on to produce the monster 3/4 of a mile wide beast that took several lives in Lone Grove. My heart goes out to the people of Lone Grove. We witnessed this large tornado near Spanish Fort Texas as it was heading towards the Red River. This is still the largest and deadliest tornado of 2009. The deadliest tornado since May 3rd 1999 in the state of Oklahoma and also the largest tornado to hit the state of Oklahoma in the month of February..
We got to see some amazing storm structure and see some crazy hail. This year seemed like the year for hail. Got several nice hail dents in the car and experienced several times hail to the size of baseballs. Here are some photos and videos of the chase season. The month of May has been very slow and doesn't show anytime soon of picking up. Maybe one more good Kansas chase for me. Hope yall enjoy
