    Help building a backyard shed

I want to build a shed for some extra storage. 8x10, 8x8 or 8x12 it doesn't really matter to me. Is there a size that would be better help eliminate extra scrap wood? Does someone happen to have some plans to one they built I can just copy?

What height are you wanting to go with and what siding material are you wanting to use.

8 X 10 would be tough. 8 x 12 would most likely be less scrap since most material including Tin is easier to cover 12ft with full sheets then 10ft

Not sure. I think I just want a slant roof, so maybe 7 or 8 in the front and 6 or 7 in the back.

In the end, the size matters very little as far as scrap. Keep it even numbers, buy the studs accordingly, and get to work. Plans would only slow progress on a slant roof shed.

I agree. Find the corners, set four solid posts and then start cutting/nailing/screwing!

                      I built a 12x24, just winging it.
                      It filled up fast!

"The Build Show" on YouTube has lots of info.
Have to sift thru a lot of custom home stuff, though.

Build it twice as big as you think you need. You will still fill it up .

I'm not sure I really need plans for every detail I guess, more of a general direction. Getting the floor level and putting on the roof are my biggest concerns.

Set the post straight up with concrete? I was think 4x4's leveled out and the the floor on top of that.
