Looking at the Vortex Diamondback HD at $399 for the 65 or 499 for the 85..

What are you going to used for?.
If you need to see every single point on a deer at long distance, well you will need something with better glass. If you want to check if a buck is mature with a nice frame, then they are good for that. -

For reference, granted not a vortex, but for power reference this is 450 yards on about 25x with my phone scope through my spotter. Picture is grainy cause it’s a screen shot of a video but you get the idea.
If just looking at bullet holes at the range or being able to take photos from a phone, the zoom on the 65mm objective is plenty good enough.

I went with the Vortex Viper 20-60x 85mm HD Straight Spotting Scope.
Its heavy - I keep it mounted on a tripod.
Great clarity. Would recommend
