        I'd give it a whirl. Go small at first and then you can expand. 6 chickens is easy and not much work. You just have to decide if you want to buy adult chickens already producing or raise them from chicks. I bought mine a year ago from a grower/egg seller and spent $90 for 6 chickens and had eggs the next day. It was nice. Lots of used small hen houses on craigslist or facebook as well that you can pick up for $50-100 instead of $350.
