2 possible scenarios of what went down and caused HC Bohannon to get fired. 45 minutes before the first pitch of Friday night's game @ LSU , Bama scratched their #1 starter. LSU fans thought it was a tactic to basically lose game 1, and allow the ace to start game 3 hoping to salvage a Win in Baton Rouge.
Scenario 1) ALA baseball player who is from OH informed a family member or close friend who placed the bet for ALA to lose. HC learned of the player notifying his people back home who placed the wager, and never reported it to the AD.
Scenario 2) Bohannon previously coached in Ohio during the 2005 Summer League. He may still have friends in Ohio, and notified someone about the starting pitcher getting scratched. HC's friend places the bet and cashes his winning ticket.
IMO, I'm leaning towards Scenario 1 since Bohannon makes $500K per year, and I don't think he would share "insider information" to jeopardize his coaching career. A 19-20 yr old kid would have no problem calling his buddy back home to notify about the pitching status. Player could then share 1/2 the winning $$$ with his friend.
I don't think this was a large 5 or 6-figure bet. Probably someone bet $5,000 for LSU to win at the last minute, causing the OH gaming commission to take a closer look. College baseball gets very little traction (betting activity) and this was enough concern to raise the red flags.
Will be interesting to read about what actually happened

I have heard there is some video or cell evidence that's out there the authorities acted on. Around here people have said it shows Bohannon was talking to the bettor near the time the bet was placed. ?

It’s time for a pitching coach change. Matt Gardner isn’t the guy. The more removed we are from Ray Hayward, the less consistent our pitching becomes
