Switch gears so to speak... Start practicing with your diaphragm calls if you use them, so you don't choke come crunch time.. We saw enough of that last night.. Poor guy...

Me too.. The last gobbler I killed was a multiple beard, he had 5. He got mounted...
I'm actually in the process of filling all of my collapsible decoys up with expanding foam. They are old and have developed memory in the folds. They will be solid but light weight. Going to work excellent??

They’re already strutting?! Hell they might be done by the time April comes around

They always start acting stupid and posturing up on our place this time of year. By the time we can legally kill one their wings tips are broomed off pretty good from strutting for several months.

Saw a flock of about 50 on the place Sunday.
They move in & out but I'm seeing them a lot more regularly.
My cousin to the south of us is on the Atascosa & I think they spend the majority of the time down there. I killed 27 'coons last year & I can't help but think that that has helped the turkeys.

Turkeys all but disappeared on our place about 4 years ago after a couple of rounds of baseball size hail and a tornado. Never have returned. Been at least 2 years since I have seen a turkey.

In the absence of turkey here, I’m kicking around the notion of going to chase them in NM around cloudcroft

Heard several gobbling last weekend! They moved us from the S zone to N a few years ago. Wish they hadn’t. They’re done by April.

I’m ready for that too! Our birds had been decreasing but seem to be getting the numbers back up. Had quite a few mature to me last year and have a great crop of 2 year olds this year.

You would have never seen these without a turkey livescope 😊
