    How would you handle this?

Alright, curious to see how TBHers would handle this.

I dropped my tractor off at a big name tractor dealership for the same repair that was done just a little over a year ago, total loss of brakes and a fluid service. When questioned why it happened again, they told me that they replaced the seals on one side of the axle which fixed the problem, and now the same issue has occurred on the opposite side of the axle. Made complete sense to replace both, especially considering you have to remove the cab to access these seals, but that's another fight in itself. After months drag by hearing that a spacer that was needed was back ordered, I finally call in early December for yet another update and told that it came in and the tractor would be ready by the end of the week. As I pick the tractor up, I'm hit with a bill that was double what it was just 15 months prior for the same exact work. As I load the tractor, I decided to check on a few items listed on my service ticket to confirm they were changed. First was the air filter (I did not indicate I wanted these changed to start with), and to my dismay the filters still had a date from 2021 on them. Moving to the fuel filter its obvious it wasnt changed either. I was charged for a new brake reservoir, and it was obvious that wasnt changed either as there was dirt and grime caked on the existing one. At this point I grab the service manager to show him my growing list of concerns. He confirms none of those items were changed, and said he would get with the service tech that worked on my tractor when he returned that week to go over everything. I told him that at this point, I cant even trust that the oil was changed and would be changing it when I got home. When questioned about why the bill was so much higher, he did mentioned that I was charged incorrectly for the space and it would be adjusted.

I told him that his follow up call with me needs to include the owner as I wanted to hear from him directly on how they were going to rectify this situation. As weeks go by, I continue calling for updates and get the same story how the owner isnt free or in the office. I've been more than patient to this point, but last night I woke up and my mind decided its hit a boiling point and couldnt go back to sleep. I spent the rest of the morning contemplating my next move.

I notified my CC company to which the charge was made that I was disputing the charge, and was attempting to rectify it with the company, they made note and said to follow up if not resolved. So at this point do I start there and begin the process of disputing a claim? Anyone done this that can provide input on how it went? Do I turn the pressure up and blast them all over social media? I've about to convinced myself to just go down there in person and make a scene, but I'm not sure that's even a good idea when I get this worked up over something.

Go there and demand it be resolved. Make a scene if needed.

You didn’t name the place, but if they have a corporate office contact them.

Also did you verify if the oil was changed? If not add that to the list of theft because they stole your money.

A "big name dealer" has corporate execs over his head somewhere. Document everything and contact them.

So you paid the charge then noticed the work wasn’t done in the parking lot? I would have requested a refund right then and had them call me when they had the correct charges sorted out. I would try to go do that now perhaps if I were you. Either they refund it or you make a scene.

I would dispute the charge. The ticket states they charged you for work you didn't ask them to do but they actually didn't do the work so they shouldn't be paid at all.

I would threaten them with Social Media. Companies don`t want stuff like that posted on social media sites like Facebook or TBF.

Every time that I have ever had a credit card charge disputed, the CC company removed the charge immediately and I never heard back after that.

My guess is that the CC company will do the same with you. They will remove the charge and they will handle the dispute with the dealership. At that point, the owner will be involved. :-)

Dispute the charge, get your money returned, and take it to another service facility you trust to thoroughly go through your tractor. Explain to them the situation, that you had work done, you found some things that were concerning (IE the brake reservoir), and if they could go through the other companies work order and confirm everything else on the list was in fact replaced.

Request photos of everything BEFORE they replace it. This will likely cost money, but if your CC company asks, you are prepared.

Once you get that done, decide how to proceed. Social Media is great, but in my experience, the local news can get far more done for you, and more quickly, especially if you are not the only one.

Sorry you have to deal with this. I have been there before, and unfortunately the cost to take the other party to small claims court wasn't worth my time to prove my case.

I would get some sort of resolution or a clear refusal to work with you before you escalate your issues to social media or out in public.

What I for sure would be doing is going over their head to their corporate and talking with the customer satisfaction people.

Sounds to me like there was criminal intent to defraud. Not knowing the politics of where this is, I can see getting the law involved.

This will happen but the CC company will eat the charge and the dealership will still get their money.

                      Good Idea

I would dispute the charge and let the credit card company deal with it. That’s just theft to be charged for a bunch of services that were never completed.

At least name the brand of tractor if you won't name the dealership. That way we can figure out who to avoid taking our equipment to get repaired.

Makes you wonder how much they do get away with?

                              Bbb file complaint

Let CC work thru their process

Meantime be knocking on the door and treat them like a thief…cause they are stealing.

Social media reviews of their business

                              Also yelp and google

Be persistent and find another dealer if possible

Service manager should have never let you leave. With inconsistencies
