    Where do the weekends go?

It's almost 10:30 on a Sunday. Where the heck did the time go? I swear, the weekends blow by so fast I can't even start on no projects I want to get done. Ain't enough time in the day. No wonder it takes me forever and a day to do anything besides laundry and picking up around the house and eating. Come on Friday, hurry the hell up and get here already.

Doesn't help that the wind was blowing a thousand miles an hour all day. Can't go out there without almost ripping the front door off the house.

I may as well just move a bed and washer and dryer and a microwave in at work. That's basically where I live anyways. Good gravy time flies by.

I know. And I put off several things i wanted to do today because of the wind. Some of those gusts must have been 45mph or more..

        I’ve been hunting a lot since November 5th so I feel like I haven’t worked a full week in a couple months[emoji23].

Came home a day early today from the ranch and have a ton of laundry. I’m off tomorrow but next week will be my first full week of work since October 24th. Weekends will start to fly by once I actually work a Friday and Monday.

Oh for sure they were here. I'm surprised my fence held up. I better hush it up or I'll be out there fixing the son of a gun tonight......guess I couldn't complain about not getting a project done if that happens.

Maybe that's part of my problem. I'm just getting back into the swing of things. I worked 8 days total in December. I had 122 hours of paid time off I had to take off before I lost it all on January 1st. A third of it I got to keep and I have 90 in reserve already so it all worked out. But it sure made getting back into the groove of things and going back to work rough.

It sure nice having that free time though ain't it? Enjoy it while it last bud.

Me and you are in the same boat man. Oh well....... it's fun while it last anyhow.

I'm conflicted about it though really. I lay down at night and my mind just keeps going. I think up more stuff than you could shake a stick at. I'll get up in the middle of the night sometimes and write stuff I need to do down on a piece of paper. I'm always thinkin when I ought to be tired and sleeping. I have more stuff I want to do than time to do it. It never stops being like that with me either. I make more hours in a day than I ought to. Most people have already shut it down and I'm up looking for things to do.

              Maybe everybody's like that. I don't know.

                You’re not the only one.

We worked our butts off at the ranch this entire hunting season between hunts instead of relaxing. This last trip when I got there Wednesday we said we are relaxing.

We didn’t get much done but we ran water 12 hrs a day in totes to fill a pond that was dry because we haven’t had rain in a long time.

I do the same thing with work and send myself emails at all times of the night if I can’t sleep.

Looks like y'all have a beautiful place. You had your work cut out for you replacing what you're lacking. But at the same time I feel like that's the kind of work we're supposed to be doing. After all, money is a made up concept. The work you did at the ranch is hard but rewarding. Its that kind of work that we're meant for, or at least I think so. When you're looking out across that water and dog tired its different than seeing the sun go down on your way home from work. Just thinking out loud I guess. I just think things like that hold more of a purpose for me. Seems more meaningful than sitting in an office. You may feel differently but looking at that picture makes me feel that way.

I know I was meant to be out there in the wild. I was born way long after I should have been. I'd take hauling that water all day every day over sitting inside. A guy has to take time off now and again to do work like that. Too much of that office stuff will kill your spirit.

In my current job, the only thing I wanna do on the weekends is a whole lotta nothing. I want the weekends to last as long as possible.

I did get to do a good bit of hunting this year and it was extremely therapeutic, but otherwise, and except for church on Sunday morning, I'd rather just chill out during the weekends.

I understand that. I'm a big fan of sleep myself. If it's too crappy outside to do anything and I can't do anything around the house that's what I do. Trouble with that is the time really flies by then. The plus side is you feel refreshed when you wake up.

Like the saying goes i don't know why Monday is so far away from Friday and Friday is to close to monday!

Im right there with ya. Some weekends its like you get alot accomploished atleast you feel like it. Then next weekend its like you spin your wheels all weekend trying to get started.

This is why I went back to working three 12 hour days a week.

When I worked 5 day a week, it felt like on Fridays I was clocking in to another job to see how much crap I could get done in the next 48 hours.

Life is good when you quit running that rat race.

                            For this rat anyway.
