I do; late season. And the hogs ain't figured out what the deer are eating. So, they just leave.

Tried it once and neither the deer or hogs ever ate it. Guess they did not know what it was.

We keep it out all year. Sometimes they hammer it. Sometimes they just lay in it lol.

Pretty much the same for me in Blanco Co. The deer nibbled a *tiny* bit, but that's about it. At today's prices, it's a pretty poor source of nutrition for the dollar.

I know they'll eat it on our place right now. These are at the homestead on our KS lease but its really dry this year and the cattle have things eaten down to dirt. So I'm not sure what will happen on a wet year but I'm going to try it.

Does anyone know where to get “round” bales of alfalfa hay in Central TX? I only see the small rectangle bales. Do they even bother to make round bales down this way?

Most of the alfalfa we buy comes from out of state, like New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. They do make a large “square” bale but I’ve not seen alfalfa round bales in my travels to Rocky Mountain states?
