    home made pig trap upgrades

allright , so I made this pig trap years ago, and over the years i've had to bring it back to camp to fix welds from big boys tearing them up ... this last time i caught a boar, he flipped the door back up and sent it flying .... so i decided to rework the mechanism and to add a latch to lock the gate once it comes down ... i also anchored the entire trap with a couple t-posts i welded rebar hooks on .. one time a big boy flipped the entire trap over since it doesn't have a bottom ... anyhow , here is a quick video recap as well as the first pig on the shorthand of my new mods ... he wasn't too happy about it...

Video is too short. We don't see the pig's demise. Pig trap vids MUST show dead pigs. that's the rule!!!!!!!

I agree with muzzlebrake. That’s the reason I don’t video. Takes to long.

Too complex for me—-I just rig a 5-gal feeder sitting on a plywood box high enough to keep the spinner above the top wire and use a cross wire with another wire to the hook holding the gate up.

I also don’t like the panels with the large openings—-seen too many piglets scatter when I drive up—-going right thru the 4x6 openings. Now I use the 4x4 or smaller and I lined the inside of my corral trap with old chain-link fencing which fixed that issue.
