And people keep paying the price and complaining every year. I cook 16,000 lbs every year from March- May. Prices are always ridiculous in January and February and the crawfish look more like trotline bait than table fare. Wait for them to get bigger and more affordable. April and May are the best 2 months for crawfish.

Everything has gone up. I have raised my prices around 20% in the last 12 months. My cost of goods has gone up at least 20%...

Thanks for the info. I have always wondered about the first month they are small. Will wait for spring this year...

Dam, I don't think all 5 of my restaurants cook 16000 lbs combined, that is a lot of bugs. You are correct about Jan and Feb pricing and quality.

Local place here has its first boil going this weekend for $8.99 a pound. Always high this time of season.

You will always see a significant drop in price after Easter.

Last year the higher prices were justified by higher gas prices for transport and rightfully so. This year they will charge what they want to because us as consumers will pay the price. I remember the days of .50 cents a lb in LA because Texas folk hadn’t caught on yet. Those were the days.

Wade’s place in chandler was $8.99 Thursday. We had fried shrimp instead! They had crab legs for $24.99 a plate. That’s great compared to $80 at happy!!
