    Port lavaca Wade fishing?

    Guys,

Have Saturday near port lavaca to do some wade fishing while the ladies do their thing. Any suggestions where I could Wade fish. Not looking for monsters or anything just a fish would be nice. Planning to do mainly fly fishing.

    Any suggestions??

    Thanks

    Scott

Find the saltwater thread and ask this question. You will get more traction.

I'm not familiar with that area, but if I were in your shoes I would just scour Google Earth for places that it looks like there might be public access that's easy to get to.

Best place to fly fish would probably be the lakes in magnolia beach, but there’s lots of gators. Also the little jetties or beachfront in POC can be ok for it. Not much great for fly fishing around here though.

Port alto or Olivia are ok . There is a new neighborhood going in near the park in Olivia . Been good fishing there for me in the past . Can be good Wade fishing near the causeway on the south bank .

I just recently started wetting a line in the area near Po Boys Bait Camp. You can park and walk the shoreline. Lots of structure. Have caught a few redfish last few times I’ve been there.

Chicken Foot Reef in Lavaca Bay is a popular saltwater fishing spot on the Texas Coast.

Chicken Foot Reef is easily accessible for wader. Off the end of the Port Lavaca Pier. Additionally on Alcoa side is good reef this used to be accessible for waders. Directly across highway on north side of it is also good shell bottom next to old rusty barges (now barely visible).

These are all solid spots imho.

I will likely be in area but boat fishing with family.
